• There are total 6829 RRB vacancies under various profiles each of which have a stipulated eligibility criteria. Graduation degree is a must for all the posts while A diploma in Rail Transport and Management from the Institute of Rail Transport is a desirable qualification for some posts. • Age (Measured as on 01.07.2012) should be between 18 - 33 years.

Selection Procedure

• Selection will be made on the basis of a Common Preliminary written test for all posts followed by a Main Exam (Specific for Each Post) and then Document Verification. Medical Fitness test will be there before final appointment.
• There will be a common written exam of total duration of 90 Minutes. There will be 90 - 120 objective questons from General Awareness, Arithmetic, General Intelligence and reasoning.
• There shall be negative marking in written exam @1/3 of the allotted marks.

Application Procedure

• Fee of this application is Rs. 60 for Gen/OBC Candidates and NIL for others. Fee to be paid in form of Indian Postal Order or Demand Draft in favor of “Assistant Secretary or Secretary or Member Secretary or Chairman of Railway Recruitment Board payable at the place where the Railway Recruitment Board concerned is situated.
• Application to be made in prescribed format with all the details completed carefully. The Recent photograph (With candidate’s name and category number on the reverse of the photograph)
• Identification mark, Handwritten paragraph and other details should be carefully completed. Along with the form, there are severe other documents to be attached, see advertisement for the complete list and procedure.
• Application should be super scribed as ‘Application for the Preliminary Examination for the notified categories of CEN No 03/2012 of RRB----- & Community (SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-SM)’ to the address of concerned RRB, (available in the notification). Qualifications: Minimum qualifications for the post of Junior Research Engineer Gr.II for different disciplines i.e. (Mechanical / Instrumentation / Civil) is following

• Mechanical: – Diploma of 3 years in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized Institute

• Instrumentation: – Diploma of 3 years in Instrumentation / Telecommunication / Electrical / Electronics Engineering from recognized Institute
