IBPS Second Common PO/MT Posts written Test (CWE) in June 2012


IBPS( Institute of Banking Personnel Selection ) has made another important announcement for conducting a common written exam (CWE) for PO/MT Posts in 19 participating banks in June 2012. This is the second CWE for PO/MT Posts while first was conducted in September 2011.
To refresh the procedure, IBPS will issue Scorecards to all the successful candidates. This scorecard will give them direct entry to the interview/GD(as decided by the bank) phase of recruitment drives of public sector banks if there score meet the cut-offs set by the banks and other eligibility criteria are satisfied.
Note that candidates that were successful in the first PO/MT CWE in sep 2011 may also apply for this and may look to improve their scores. Both the scorecards will be valid for one year.

The common test (CWE) is for recruitment of Probationary Officer orManagement Trainee vacancies that arise in Following 19 public Sector banks.

As already known, State Bank of India & its 5 associate banks do not Participate in This process and they will conduct separate tests whenever required.
Important Dates
  • Dates of Online Registration and payment of fees (Online)- Mar 9 - 30, 2012
  • Offline Fee Payment - Mar 12 to Apr 7, 2012
  • Common Written Exam (CWE) for PO - June 17, 2012
Eligibility Criteria
  • Should be 20 - 30 Yrs of age as on Jan 1, 2012,
  • Relaxation in Upper age Limit :-
    • For SC/ST :- 5 Years Relaxation,
    • For OBC :- 3 Years Relaxation,
    • For PWD  :- 10 Years Relaxation,
  • Should Have a degree in any discipline from a recognized university (No specific percentage has been mentioned. So Pass is the only criteria). The degree should be completed as on Jan 1, 2012.
Written Test Pattern
The written test will have Objective & Descriptive papers for a total of 250 marks. The various components are as follows:

There will be Negative Marking for wrong answers which will be 1/4th of the total marks for the question. Total time for above paper will be 150 Minutes.
A Descriptive Paper on English Composition (Essay,Precis,Letter Writing etc) for 25 Marks will be held with Duration of 60 Minutes.

Scorecards
As known, Candidates passing the exam would be issued a scorecard by IBPS., The card will be valid for One year and Public sector banks wishing to recruit for above posts will issue notification mentioning eligibility (age, education, test score etc) & invite applications from candidates having valid scorecards.
Candidates satisfying the eligibility criteria will send their applications & proceed directly to Interview or Group discussion if shortlisted by the bank. Its a two step cut-off process.
Note that those looking to improve their scores from previous PO CWE (SEP - 2011) may also apply. Both scorecards will be valid for an year.

How To Apply
 Fee for this Application is Rs.50 (SC/ST/PWD) or Rs.450 (others).
 Payment can be done in any of Online or Offline Mode. Both are as described Below:-
Payment of fees via the ONLINE MODE (From Mar 9 - 30)
  •  The application form is integrated with the payment gateway and the payment process can be completed by following the instructions.
  •  The payment can be made by using any Master/ Visa Debit or Credit cards or Internet Banking by providing information as asked on the screen.
  •  On successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt will be generated whose print out have to be submitted with the Call Letter at the time of written examination.
Candidates must download the call letter for written exam from IBPS website after June 4. Note that it wont be sent through post. Note that you need to bring a photo and Original fee Receipt along with this call letter to sit in the exam.

Payment of fees via the OFFLINE MODE(From Mar 12 - Apr 7)
 Payment to be made by Cash Voucher which will be generated after the online application is made. Fee to be paid through any branch of any one of the following 6 Public Sector Banks Bank of Baroda , Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank, United Bank of India.
 After applying online, note the generated Registration Number and password.Take print out of the generated payment challan which is to be used for payment. Fee payment using challan can be made after two days from applying online at above mentioned banks.
As the registration is confirmed, you'll receive an SMS / E-Mail stating the same. Application re-print could be taken after three days of payment of fees.
